MTUG presents the 2021 Co-Sponsored Technology Scholarship Awards!

Please join MTUG in congratulating our 2021 co-sponsored technology scholarship award recipients in our remarks below. We will also be celebrating our recipients in our fall webinars.

Please share in our celebration at our LinkedIn Posting on our 2021 awards here!

MTUG has worked with Maine-invested businesses for 10 years to raise scholarships for students in year 3 or 4 of a technology related program within the University of Maine System, with grants available for up to two years. We are grateful to our 2021 donors for their generous contributions, and to the University of Maine Foundation for administering the program. This year, 9 generous co-sponsors donated $7,500 toward 10 scholarships. The 2021 Co-Sponsored Technology Scholarship Program bestowed grants to a total of 10 recipients, for a value of $12,500 in scholarships this year!

Our 2021 donors are:
Connectivity Point, Consolidated Communications, FirstLight Fiber, Great Works Internet (GWI), Maine Employers Mutual Insurance (MEMIC), Norway Savings Bank, OTELCO, Systems Engineering, and Tyler Technologies (two scholarships).
- each of these is also recognized with logos below.
Thank you so much to all of our generous donors!
Over the past 10 years, the MTUG Co-Sponsored Scholarships have extended 72 technology program students grants totaling $91,900. Help us break $100,000 in 2022! Check out the MTUG Scholarship Co-Sponsorship information page to learn more about participating in our next round, and help us grow Maine's tech workforce.

Also, a HUGE thanks to our volunteer MTUG Scholarship Liaison, board member Dr. Ron Brown, who has recruited corporate donors every year for a decade. Without Ron's tireless efforts, the scholarship program would not have been possible, nor have grown so well. Lastly, a special thanks as well to Holly Hatch, Dee Gardner, the University of Maine Foundation staff, and their partners in UMaine's Office of Student Financial Aid. In spite of continuing pandemic challenges, they worked diligently to organize and allocate this year's scholarships.
