Our 27th Annual Conference was held May 29, 2014 at the Holiday Inn by the Bay in Portland to a packed registered attendee list of over 500 and a tradeshow floor of 59 booths featuring 54 exhibitors!
At the heart of the show were 15 presentations from over 30 presenters -- mostly peer "end-user" IT professionals from a broad array of Maine organizations -- in tracks such as Cloud Services, Security, Unified Communications, Small Business IT and "Techie Sandbox" (featuring DIY and robot technologies).
MTUG's IT conference is the premier technology infrastructure conference in the state, with workshop topics that speak to the concerns and interests of IT professionals in all organizational sectors and industries. The exhibitors on the tradeshow floor ran the full array of IT infrastructure services, from telco and ISP providers, managed services providers, contact center providers, training, IT management and support, data and storage management, and more.
Attendees enjoyed a continental breakfast, buffet lunch, keynote speaker, goodies in the afternoon, workshops, tradeshow floor access and door prizes.

MTUG was thrilled that Susan Corbett, CEO of Axiom Technologies, could come and be our 2014 Conference Keynote Speaker. Her presentation was titled:
"Empowering Rural Economies: Broadband in Maine - It's what we DO with it."
Description: As Maine’s broadband infrastructure grows and develops – and businesses and residents utilize advanced technology – it can promote a new way of thinking about growing Maine’s economy.
But technical infrastructure is not enough. Strategic partnerships for training and funding opportunities are the key to enable regions and populations to adopt new technologies effectively, productively, and continuously.
Susan discusses the work of Axiom, the ConnectME Authority, and numerous others to foster technology adoption as a means to empower businesses and communities.
