LOCATION: Farmingdale, ME (with frequent regional travel)
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Sales Executive is responsible for maximizing the sales of CMC’s goods and services. Activities important for success include relationship building, market and product research and presentation of the product or service in a structured professional way. The essential duties of Sales Executives are to:
- Listen to customer requirements and present appropriately to make a sale;
- Maintain and develop relationships with existing customers in person, and via telephone calls and emails;
- Arrange meetings with potential customers to prospect for new business;
- Negotiate the terms of an agreement and close sales;
- Gather market and customer information and document it in the practice management software;
- Represent the organization at trade exhibitions, events and demonstrations;
- Challenge any objections with a view to getting the customer to buy;
- Advise on forthcoming product developments and discuss special promotions;
- Record sales and order information following established policies and procedures;
- Review personal sales performance, aiming to meet or exceed targets;
- Gain a clear understanding of customers' businesses and requirements;
- Make accurate, rapid cost calculations, and providing customers with quotations;
- Feed future buying trends back to employers;
- Attend team meetings and sharing best practice with colleagues;
- All other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills Required:
- Knowledge of business strategies, as well as their associated metrics;
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to build relationships at multiple levels to work cross organizationally toward solutions;
- Self-motivated and flexible to work with negligible supervision;
- Tenacious work attitude;
- Highly innovative and proactive;
- Excellent leadership and consensus building skills;
- Influencing and change management skills;
- Must be able to work safely following the company’s policy/procedures on safety;
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable with CMC’s auto insurance carrier during course of employment.
Job Requirements:
- Knowledge of principals and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products and services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems;
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction;
- Good time management and communications skills;
- Travel on a frequent basis.
