  • IT Support Specialist

    Provide technical assistance to computer system users. Answer questions or resolve computer problems for clients in person, via telephone, or remotely. May provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word-processing, electronic mail, and operating systems.  Triage incoming support requests and resolve issues that are escalated. Specific Responsibilities Include:


    • Monitor and respond to technical support requests in a timely and effective manner
    • Identifies, researches, and resolves hardware and software problems in a multiple platform environment
    • Documents, tracks, and monitors problems to ensure a timely resolution
    • Supports installation, administration, and troubleshooting for hardware services (such as personal computers, printers, routers, switches) as well as technical support structures (such as telco racks, power management, cabling, etc.)
    • Assist in keeping IT inventory, hardware maintenance database, and other IT tools current and accurate
    • Provide technical support including end-user training and documentation
    • Assist with the maintenance (installation, troubleshooting, upgrading) of all corporate applications.
    • Identifying and remediating system security vulnerabilities
    • Manage User Accounts and Permissions
    • Analysis and research into technology solutions to the company’s challenges, recommendation of such solutions, and implementation of those solutions
    • Work with and manage external partners, including consultants and vendors

    Education, Experience and Skills:

    • 3+ years technical experience with certificate or degree in PC/network field or equivalent work experience
    • Intermediate knowledge of personal computer hardware and software, including networking and multiple Windows operating systems, Active Directory and Group Policies
    • MCITP, MCTS and/or A+ certification would be considered an asset
    • Proven troubleshooting skills including hands-on, phone, and ability to provide support to remote locations
    • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs on a regular basis, to stand for several hours at a time, and have the flexibility and agility to perform installations (e.g., crawl under desks or behind work units)
    • Must possess excellent interpersonal and time-management skills

    This position is responsible for working independently on smaller development projects, as well as working with a senior developer on enterprise level projects.  This position requires a high level of self-motivation, attention to detail, and personal accountability.

    The Junior Software Developer will be tasked with fielding production support requests from the business to maintain multiple systems on multiple platforms.  In addition, owning the year to year development of our self-service client portals, as well as assist senior level staff on larger more complex development efforts.

    Knowledge: 2-3 years' experience in both client and server side application design, as well as a solid grasp on database design.

    Skills: C# (MVC, SOAP, REST), T-SQL, Front end web development (HTML 5, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery).  The following disciplines are not required, but nice to have: Experience with Salesforce, SAAS, Source Control (Git), MSMQ, XSLT
